Frequently Asked Questions
Have you got a question? We'd love to hear it! Here at Sandhill Photography we've heard it all. From "What should I wear?" to "What kind of gear do you use?" to "Can I bring my pet lizard to the photo session?" Chances are, if you've got a question, you're not the first one to ask us. We LOVE questions and you can call us with them any time. But in the mean time, we thought we'd share with you the answers to some of the questions that we get asked the most often. I hope this helps, and if you've got any other questions about a Family Session, Engagement Session, Wedding Photography, or anything else we haven't thought of, fill out the Contact Us form and we'll do our best to answer it!
What should we wear?
I generally recommend that light color pallets work beautifully on the beach. A combo with light pinks, blues, beige and white is always a win, and never fails to look great at sunset. If you're looking for something bolder, navy is another great option. And when all else fails, Blue and White is a combo that nearly everyone has something for already hanging in their closet. Ladies always look fabulous in long, flowy skirts or maxi dresses, which flatter almost every body type, and for the guys, consider a structured look with collars and buttons. If in doubt, head over to pinterest or google image and search "what to wear for beach pictures" for some fabulous inspiration! Most importantly, you should choose something that feels right for your family, even if it goes against all of my advice, LOL.
What about the weather?
Rain is a funny thing here in Florida. Often times shifting the session earlier in the day or even just moving to another location a mile away can mean avoiding a storm. On the other hand, if it looks like it is going to be pouring the entire day, then rescheduling to another day is usually possible, although it's not guaranteed that the same slot time will be available. These decisions aren't made more than 24 hours before the session (except in the case of a hurricane,) and often not until just a few hours before hand because the weather here can change so quickly. We do not offer re-scheduling due to cloudy weather because so often cloudy days have the best lighting and the most spectacular sunsets.
Are detail pictures really
THAT important?
In a word? YES!! You've spent MONTHS planning this wedding and working out EVERY detail perfectly. The set the tone for your wedding and bring your vision to life. I think the bigger question here is "Why wouldn't you want them captured?!"
Do you have a
Redundancy Plan?
If your wedding photographer hasn't got a redundancy plan, you've got the wrong photographer. Although things rarely go wrong, it's always a possibility and you want to know that your photographer is prepared! On wedding day I carry back up camera's, lenses, and lighting, so that even in a worst case scenario I can still keep shooting. And when it comes to your pictures, I've got back ups of those too! After shooting on dual memory cards, the moment I get home your pictures are downloaded to 2 external hard drives, AND saved to a back up system in the cloud. Your wedding day is the most important moment of your life, and we're not letting anything happen to those memories!!
When will my pictures be delivered?

Do you have a second shooter for weddings?
All of our wedding photography packages include just 1 photographer. And really, that's almost always all you need. On wedding days I almost never stop moving. I'm here, I'm there, I'm back and forth, always looking for a new angle. This, coupled with the fact that I shoot with both natural light and off camera flash, means that it LOOKS like your wedding was shot by more than one person. Now there are some things that I just can't do by myself, namely, I can't be in two places at once. So if you want pictures of the girls and the guys getting ready at different locations at the same time, or if you want to make sure that you have pictures of your cocktail hour WHILE we're taking your portraits, or if your wedding reception is simply going to be to large to cover with just one photographer, then adding a second shooter is definitely possible. Let's talk more and we'll find the best fit for your day!
